Hello mrs.cavanagh I have just been on the ”reading matters” website and I have just read ‘’secrets” by Jacqueline Wilson.
I thaught it was a sad story but a happy story.
When the girl was born the nurse called her treasure. Her mum was misrable but treasure was her name. Her mum had a boyfriend who slapped her with a belt when he got drunk. Her nan saw what they had done to her so she took treasure to her council flat. Everynight treasure would look out of her window and wish on a star saying ”I wish i had a best friend to tell my secrets to.India could do with a nan like treasure’s nan because India never gets hit nobody even notices her. When treasure and India meet they become friends in no time. They become best friends in no time!treasure told India her secret and India had a plan………

Hi Mrs.Cavanagh and y5
The old creaky church door,
is next to the blood red floor.
The freezing cold chess tiles,
go on for miles and miles.
Your footsteps echo on the ground,
the golden cross might not be found.
People speak in hushed tones,
In church there are no moans or groans.
The smell of burnt matches fill the air,
The memorials give people such a scare.
In church we pray for forgivness and things,
People in the choir always sing.
People can still hear babies crying,
Nobody in church is lying.
Church is a holy place,
Some people can see god’s face.
